I really enjoy my work. I feel grateful to collaborate with people in creating the type of life that better serves them, their relationships and the world in general. Since my first Psychology course in High School, I knew I wanted to be a psychotherapist. Connecting to people and listening to their evolving life experiences is a privilege. As a therapist and a human being, I am dedicated to my own self-discovery while supporting my clients’ authentic paths. I truly believe in the word “collaboration”. We are not made to stand alone and I am here to stand with you.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist in Asheville, North Carolina. I am a queer, white, cisfemale raised in the South and shaped by living on West Coast. I completed a Certificate in Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB). The IPNB framework perfectly echoes my personal and professional beliefs; our optimal well-being is reflected in our minds and bodies, the relationships with ourselves and others and our interconnectedness with nature. Within this framework I use various therapy modalities to individualize your process. I am trained in EMDR, which is very helpful in reprocessing trauma and working though general "stuck" places in our lives. I also provide talk therapy as well as mindfulness and introspective techniques
I am knowledgeable, down to earth and skilled at creating a compassionate, safe environment. I believe laughter is a powerful healing tool in our lives and in the therapy room! Through our collaboration, I invite you to be yourself and get to know yourself. I affirm gender diversity and support people through gender exploration and/or transition. I provide a supportive space for my LGBTQ+ community. I respect and enjoy diversity in people. I work with adults exploring their sexuality, struggling with transitional life events, or managing ongoing mental health concerns. Going to therapy can be considered "working" on ourselves and our relationships. Yes, work can be challenging. At the same time, it can be healing, transformational, liberating, and dare I say, fun!
